| Anna Paquin, a New Zealand-Canadian actor and film theater performer, is well known for her roles in films such as The PianoFly Away Homeand X-Men. She entered the field at the age of 11 in the film The Piano, for which she won the Oscar Award for best actress as a support role. The actress had no intention of be an actor, but destiny decided otherwise. In order to stay focused on her studies, she turned down many job offers after the success of her debut film. After her debut film was a success, at age 14, she was offered roles in Jane Eyre as well as the series Fly Away Homefilm. In 2000, she portrayed Roguethe strong mutant Roguein X-Menthe X-Menfilmseries. The role she played upon landed her in the limelight. The actress reprised Roguein sequels, such as X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand.She had smaller screen roles as Elaine Goodalin Bury My Heart at Wounded Kneefor her which received her first Emmynomination. Soon after was she receiving requests from TV producers to star in shows such as True Bloodand Flack. |
